Description: With everyone offering up bytes of their music these days, the best acts need to work to build awareness like never before. Indie and unsigned artists typically have far less resources than major labels, but far better artist-to-fan bonds. Tinderbox Music's goal is to grow artists beyond local radio. National press outlets and music blogs are constantly looking for the next undiscovered band to champion and television music supervisors are trying to use music that's "breaking" and "affordable." By the numbers, indie music gets placed into significantly more TV opportunities than music from the majors. Each year Tinderbox reliably places hundreds of songs which air in a wide variety of programing on networks including Discovery, MTV, E!, HBO, Showtime, & more!
If selected, you will have access to a wide array of valuable services from Tinderbox in addition to music placement, which include radio placement, press and tour support. Tinderbox campaigns range from $300 to $1,800, depending on the services that you desire!

Submission Fee: $0.00
Provider: Concrete Marketing
Description: Participate in the "One Guitar" initiative and you will be helping a worthy charity cause, be part of breaking a Guinness Book World Record, and be entered to win a spot on either the Warped, Mayhem or Country Throwdown Touring Festivals! (see video message from Kevin Lyman at the bottom of posting)
Concrete Marketing is inviting bands and artists to either cover or do a remix of the song “One Guitar” by Willie Nile.
To listen to the song, you could also check out www.reverbnation.com/willienile
We are all familiar with the artist driven charity efforts behind songs like "We Are The World" and "That's What Friends Are For", where high profile musicians come together to record a single song and lend their talent and names to drive sales of that song, with proceeds going to one designated charitable cause.
The "One Guitar" campaign takes almost the opposite path. Instead of a select group of artists coming together to record one song that results in one recorded master, individual artists and bands will individually record different versions of Willie Nile's song, "One Guitar". Also, instead of one beneficiary, half of the proceeds will go to the TJ Martell Foundation and half of the proceeds will go to a charity chosen by each artist that participates in the project. The goal is to have hundreds of versions of the song, recorded in all genres of music. Willie Nile is also donating all the publishing royalties generated by these charitable versions of the song.
In addition to raising money for a worthy cause, the "One Guitar" initiative should break the Guinness Book World Record for the most "recorded" song in history. The present record sits at about 1500 versions and we aim to break that number. Don't you want to be part of that?
As a bonus incentive, by entering your version of the song through ReverbNation, you can win a spot on either the Warped, Mayhem or Country Throwdown Touring Festivals!
Willie Nile is a songwriters’ songwriter and his live performances are legendary. He has toured across the U.S. opening for The Who at the personal request of the band and was Bruce Springsteen’s only guest artist at Giant Stadium in ’09. Bruce recently joined Willie on stage in Asbury Park for Willie’s song “Heaven Help The Lonely."
“Willie Nile is a great artist. If there was any justice in this world, I’d be opening up for him instead of him for me.” –Lucinda Williams
“Willie’s so good I can’t believe he’s not from New Jersey.” –Little Steven
“The impassioned voice, the sharp and soulful lyrics, the interesting shoes and large, Kramer-like hair which seems to grow thicker every year – Willie Nile brings it all into focus. Listen to this record.” –Graham Parker
The New York Times called him "one of the most gifted singer-songwriters to emerge from the New York scene in years." His album “Streets Of New York” was hailed as “a platter for the ages” by UNCUT magazine. He has been called everything from "a one-man Clash" (UNCUT) to "the next Bob Dylan” and his critically acclaimed solo albums have gotten rave reviews around the world. Bono, Lou Reed, Lucinda Williams, Jim Jarmusch, Adam Duritz and Little Steven are among those who have sung his praises.
Log In to register, download the stems and start remixing if you want to do a remix of the song OR just submit your own cover of the song without using the stems!

Birch Run, MI
Event Dates: Aug 11, 2012
Summary: Perform at Dirt Fest in front of an expected attendance of 5,000+
Targeted Genres: Alternative, DJ, Electronica, Folk, Metal, Pop, Rock, Americana, Indie, Jam, Singer Songwriter, Punk, Ambient, Christian Rock, Dubstep, Electronic Dance Music, Funk, Rockabilly, and Ska
Submission Fee: $0.00
Provider: Dirt Fest
Description: Dirt Fest is a live outdoor music event that offers a true spotlight to Independent artists. We offer many of the same opportunities to the independent artists that the major artists benefit from such as performing on the Main Stage, radio play and radio interviews, individual profile pages on DirtFest.com, mentions in our social media blasts, and more. Developing new talent is just as important as bringing in well-known talent to our thousands of attendees. We encourage, support and highlight artists from a broad variety of genres including hard rock, alternative, electronic, acoustic, folk, punk, extreme metal, and more to appeal to the new generation of iPod playlist fans who enjoy a mix of everything.
Previous acts include Alien Ant Farm, All That Remains, Pop Evil, Four Year Strong, Every Time I Die, Burn Halo, Egypt Central, Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Darkest Hour, Between The Buried And Me, I See Stars, Mayday Parade, and many MANY more.
The artists are compensated by Dirt Fest in a variety of ways. We stress that being a part of the Dirt Fest marketing machine helps build an artist's overall exposure. Monetary compensation is negotiable in certain circumstances, but not offered to all. We offer perk payments such as studio time and merchandising options to provide service and value for the artists we work with.
Dirt Fest is frequented by members of the media including radio, print, and television. Label A&R have signed many artists having seen them on stage at Dirt Fest. We boast many success stories and are excited to continue to help your band network with the multitude of industry folks in attendance.
Prize Packages: We often offer additional prize packages to many of our artists including Studio time giveaways with producer Matt Dalton at 37 Studios in Michigan, as well as T-shirt printing packages, web design packages, and consumables such as guitar strings and drum sticks, just to name a few.
How will this Festival be Promoted? Dirt Fest is heavily marketed through FM radio, print, magazines, e-blasts, web and social media presence, and we canvas major areas with flyers and posters. Our marketing campaign provides extensive exposure for the event both regionally and nationally.
Important Note: Upon selection, artists that are not "national headlining" acts will be required to sell a minimum of 25 tickets to be eligible for performance. If you do not think you can sell 25 tickets at approximately $20-$25 each, please do not submit to play. The idea here is for each independent artist to contribute to the fanbase of the other independent artists, not for you to simply "pay to play". If you can draw at least 25 people, you breakeven.
Total ReverbNation Artists/Bands Guaranteed: At least 3 slots for ReverbNation submissions, but in 2011, MANY of our artists were selected via ReverbNation!

Provider: Show Me The Music Contest
Description: Welcome to our 2012 International "Show Me the Music" songwriting contest. This contest is all about giving you, the songwriter, a once in a lifetime opportunity. We are excited about finding our 5th Grand Prize Winner this year and we look forward to hearing your original songs. All genres are welcome!
You may ask yourself, “Why should I enter the Show Me the Music songwriting contest?”
Since our contest is still fairly new, we receive far less entries than some of the other major songwriting contests. Although we only had a little over 1,000 songs entered last year, we are still offering the same huge prizes you might find when entering contests with 15,000-25,000 plus entries.
We do not run your music through an algorithm machine to find out what a computer says is a great song! Show Me the Music takes great pride in having real people listen to each song entered. Songs are judged on melody, lyrics, song structure, and originality. Entries are not judged on production.
With that being said, this year’s Grand Prize Winner will have a difficult decision to make…..$10,000 cash, or…. $3,000 cash and a Recording Session in Music City, Nashville, TN. If you win, you choose the prize!
How does the contest work?
Our contest will run in three phases. In each phase, we will award a winner. You will want to enter as soon as possible for an opportunity to win these early awards and prizes.
- Phase 1 will end March 31st
- Phase 2 will end May 31st
- Phase 3 will end in June 31st
Phase 1 and 2 winners will receive $250.00 U.S., an award certificate, a Show Me the Music t-shirt, and a featured spot on our website. They will also automatically advance to the top finalists for a shot at winning the overall grand prize. Phase 3 will award the overall Grand Prize Winner with their choice of Grand Prize Package A or B.
What are the 2 choices for the Grand Prize Winner?
A) Cash Prize Package of $10,000: We have noticed that some of those who have entered in the past already have an amazing recording of their original song. All they need is some cash to get the tour on the road, buy new equipment, pay off some bills, fund a promotion, or just have a fatter wallet. Prize Package A was designed for these people. Copy Cats Media (www.copycatsmedia.com) is also manufacturing and donating 500 packaged cd’s of the winning song! If that is what you are looking for, then this contest is for you. Plus much more!
B) Recording Session Prize Package + $3,000 Cash: What if you don’t have a high quality recording of your song or connections in the music business? We will provide that and more if you win. If our Winner chooses the Recording Session Prize Package, we will set them up with 3 nights stay in Nashville, TN, $3,000 to use towards airfare and spending money, a meet and great with top Producers, A-list Musicians, publishers, songwriters, and song-pluggers for major labels. This package also includes a recording session at The Castle recording studio in Franklin, TN with world renowned producer Rob Feaster. We will bring the song to life as our winner records with the same musicians who are on today’s #1 radio hits! Copy Cats Media (www.copycatsmedia.com) generously offered to manufacture 500 cd’s of the winning song.
We look forward to hearing your original music and wish you the best in the contest! You can’t win if you don’t enter. Now, get those songs ready and Show Me the Music!

We Share Ad Revenue with You
ReverbNation shares 50% of all advertising revenue with our artists.
The 50-50 Split
Each month, 50% of the total ad revenue from across all artist pages will be pooled and artists who have opted-in to the Fair Share Program will receive a portion of that pool based on their overall site activity for the month. Unlike other sites that have tried to negotiate the lowest possible payout to the artists, ReverbNation has been VOLUNTARILY paying artists 50% of our take since April of 2007. You are our BUSINESS PARTNERS, and we will always treat you that way.
Start rabbit hole mode on I Was Totally Destroying It's profile page and we'll play one of their songs.
When that song finishes we might play a song by Hammer No More The Fingers, an artist I Was Totally Destroying It has recommended.
When that song finished we might play a song by Organos, an artist Hammer No More The Fingers is about to play a show with.
Stay in Rabbit Hole mode and see how far down it goes. We'll keep playing music based off the previous song.
